Update 5/01/01: HB1992 requiring parents to provide name and address of school or other educational setting prior to withdrawing a public school child.

Update 4/10/01: HB142 deferred. Will not be considered again this session.

SB118 THEUNISSEN Signed by Gov. STUDENTS: Requires transfer of student education records within 10 business days of receipt of a written request by certain educational facilities and removes authority to withhold a student's grades under certain circumstances. Includes an approved home study program and a nonpublic school established in a private residence as educational facilities.

DEVILLIER PEND H COMM EDUC STUDENT/SCH ATTENDANCE: Provides relative to the transfer of students' records.

For purposes of transferring student records as required in this Section, any parent who withdraws a student from a public school, prior to such withdrawal, shall submit to the school the name and address of the school or other educational setting that the student will be attending.

HB447 GSMITH ASSIGNED TO HOUSE COMMITTEE ON CRIMINAL JUSTICE (considered on 4/10/01) CRIME/FIREWORKS: Prohibits the manufacture, transportation, distribution, sale, possession, or use of fireworks
